Highly decorative triple portrait, dating from the turn of the 21st century as art techniques in Bali began to stray from the highly traditional into the abstract and impressionistic styles. Wayan is from the town of Ubud; the moutainous inland artistic centre of Bali. The paintings' three figures are Indonesian, wearing traditional batik cloth garments. The painting draws us in to question whether these are three different figures or three moods of one subject. An interesting canvas on a striking and unsual orange ground, and a highly affordable item of modern art and conversation piece.
