This pair of Industrial side tables are made of Aladdin Blue Flame Paraffin heaters from the studio of the Socialist Sculptor, Ian Homer Walters (1930-2006), best known for his London statues of Nelson Mandela on the South Bank and in Parliament Square. Having served to heat his studio, they have now been disabled as lamps so that they are interesting sculptural items in their own right - Architectural Ironmongery with the rust of ages and a whole new practical purpose.
We have given them circular opaque glass tops in a similar pale industrial greenish shade, mounted on strong suction cups with brackets and screws for safety, and ease of cleaning/moving. As a pair of Urban edgy glass side tables, they bring their interesting past life and associations with them into any Industrial scene; Loft, Studio or Warehouse. Or they could add highlights of the raw Industrial look to a more conventional design setting. Wherever they go they are sure to be unique conversation pieces..
