This is a gorgous pair of Cane bergere armchairs - probably 1930s - and wonderfully unmatching. They are made to go together but they're an inexact pair. We don't want to be sexist about this so they don't have to be His and Hers. They could be just as easily be His and His or Hers and Hers. The main thing is that one is larger than the other, and one has straight legs and the other has legs that end in a solid ball and claw.
Their hideous and overbearing dark varnish has been sanded down to reveal a lovely natural rustic finish. Their springs and base have been beautifully covered in neutral creamy taupe linen padding to match their new perfectly tailored linen upholstered cushions. No attention to detail has been spared. The larger chair has one tiny shred of cane missing in the base of its cane back - zoom on photo.
Now this lovely comfortable and unassuming pair will fit in absolutely anywhere; they could be casual chairs in the kitchen to sit in while chatting up the cook, would fit in beautifully and neutrally to any living area scheme, or could sun themselves and you in a conservatory.
Dimensions shown are for the larger chair. The smaller is W51 H76 D62
As ever, delivery within Mainland UK* is included. The lovely Foy & Co Tweed tartan cushions are not Included and nor is Digger
