A  simply lovely pair of Chinese Altar Tables. Qing dynasty but in the Ming style and gorgeous.

 

Made of solid hardwood, possibly Huanghuali, and varnished, they are a rich deep Caramel in colour - think good quality Toffee Apple, and simply and stylishly carved. Solid wood consoles with hand-carved scroll flanges and the most elegant of carved feet, they're a fabulous shape; with clean lines, graceful uplifting sides and lovely legs.

 

They would look wonderful side by side or opposite each other absolutely anywhere that one would put a console table, but especially in the hallway or entrance to a flat or home, to establish one's fabulous taste from the outset. Good fortune to have one of these pieces, the jackpot to find a PAIR!
