A simply glorious ensemble of dining table and 6 chairs in rich Duck Egg Blue, cream and gold. This fabulous set was inspired by the colours of Queen Charlotte of Sweden's Writing Room at Roseberg and is named for her, although for Londoners it will conjure up a vision of Fortnum & Mason!

The dining table is a Regency design mahogany D-end table with an extra leaf, on double tripod supports ending in paw and claw feet, an English design from the same era as Queen Charlotte. The table has been painted in Duck Egg blue, with a good sizeable margin handgilded in gold colour paint. Rings on the tripod supports and the claw feet have also been picked out in gold. The whole has been waxed and buffed to give a good sheen, with of course all the individual marks and hand painting strokes associated with this vintage look. The table will seat 4/6 or 8, depending on whether or not the leaf is used, and has its original brass clips to fasten the leaf securely into place.

The set of 6 matching chairs are of very elegant but comfortable design, with their central circular motif also picked out in gilding. The individual vintage seat pads have been reupholstered in vintage designer fabric "Sackville Stripe"  by Nina Campbell, which is creamy ivory and duck egg blue with subtle hints of yellow ochre which tone with the gilding of table and chairs. This is a discontinued vintage fabric, so it is certain that Queen Charlotte's Dining Suite is a total one-off.
