Retro Butterfly Chairs - set of 4

A set of 4 "Butterfly" back chairs. Probably mid50s in vintage, these came to us with dull wooden legs and exhausted and flammable foam seats! We have repainted the frames in deep black (Little Greene's Jack Black) to give them the air of ebony. The seat pads have been dismantled and completely rebuilt, filled with deeper and fire-retardant fillings, and topped off with wonderful seat covers made from a gorgeous stretchy charcoal tweed "Elgin" from the lovely (and award-winning) people at Bute Fabrics on the Isle of Bute. Now they're Bute Beauties!

The instantly recognisable "Butterfly" backs are known for their comfort as well as their style. They give really good lower back support so they are perfect dining chairs for hosts who care.....

They look great with several of our tables, but particularly the Formica Retro Table with its fabulous faux woodgrain top and matching Jack Black frame.
