This painted Vintage 1930s desk is an unsual but not outlandish One-off. It has an interesting Deco shape, with classic deco handles added to a more traditionally shaped piece - a sign of the transition of furniture styles of the period. It has a dark quite plain exterior which opens to reveal a much more intricate working area.

We have restyled it in a dark Graphite colour chalk painted, waxed and buffed. The interior of the desk itself has been painted in paler Paris Grey, and Vintage brass handles have been added to the small inner drawers.  Along the base and above the feet it has a slim little decorative frieze which we have highlighted in gold and then overpainted to give just a subtle hint of gilding.

Down below the bureau section are four drawers; 2 short over 2 long, making for a lot of useful extra storage. Now it's a really handsome, solid piece of furniture - sleek in style and totally androgenous - it would be equally at home in a glamorous bedroom or masculine study or living area.

With drawers in all sizes and upright pigeon holes it's a desk for someone methodical or someone who would like to be, and would make a fab present for someone you would like to help to be a little more organised.....
